The wireless motion transmitter operates on one 9V battery and is easily mounted on a tree or post near the driveway. The transmitter uses a passive infrared (PIR) beam to detect people or vehicles to a distance of up to 8092, then sends a radio signal back to the receiver located up to 1 mile away. Actual range may vary depending on the local terrain. The transmitter is weatherproof and meant for exterior locations. It can operate in cold weather conditions. Up to sixteen zones can be monitored with additional transmitters. The transmitters can be programmed so they will each sound a different tone at the receiver. The receiver plugs into a standard wall outlet. When the receiver gets a signal from the transmitter, one of twelve different tones will sound for a few seconds. There is also a volume control allowing you to set the sound to the desired level. It supports up to 16 sensors on 4 zones, including infrared beam sensors and metal alert sensors. -30 F - 120 F.

In addition to local visual and audible alerts, the system includes a WiFi adapter that is connected to the driveway alarm receiver and uses the FREE SpotProtect Cloud service to send an email or text message when triggered. Users can also login and view the history of triggers as well make changes to programming.
